Who are Coup d’Archet?
Coup d'Archet was founded in 1997. The company specialises in previously unreleased recordings, including works from great artists who left little in the way of an official recorded legacy.

The Challenge
Coup d’Archet had an aging e-commerce website which was in need of a
replacement. The products were mostly being sold through an established
worldwide group of distributors and although this was to continue, the
company wanted to vastly increase their direct on-line sales. This was to
be achieved through a stylish web presence which
emphasised the quality of the recordings and the exquisite detail in the
record slip cases.
Coup d’Archet also required a more flexible catalogue website
solution that would allow them to increase visitor numbers and length of each
visit by providing track listings, recording snippets and information on the
artitsts and Coup d’Archet.
The Approach
The new site was produced using the RiverCMS e-commerce module. The RiverCMS e-commerce suite is an integral part of the RiverCMS system, so all site content and e-commerce content is controlled from a central administration panel. This means that the product catalogue can be edited with the ease of a CMS system as well as allowing the company to keep the rest of their site up to date with all the latest information.
The catalogue is presented extremely stylishly with album covers, track listings, awards and a brief description of each product. Senior also gave Coup d’Archet the ability to upload track samples, playable by visitors in the catalogue. Because of the worldwide appeal of the products Google Translator was plugged into the site giving instant translation into 8 different languages. In addition, the catalogue was integrated with PayPal to take on-line payments.
To maximise the visual impact of the products, all the box sets were
re-photographed by Senior for the new site, which led to high quality
images for all of the catalogue pages. The home page features an elegant product
slideshow, which is designed to flow seamlessly across slides, thus
showing off the fantastic artwork of the products.
The finished website satisfies the criteria and has a great mix of
usability and stunning visuals. Senior’s design team created a classic
stylish design, making the products the focal point, with clean lines and
simple flourishes. The website benefits from a fantastic layout and easy
navigation structure that means visitors are never more than three clicks away
from the page they are looking for. This results in an enjoyable visitor experience
and easy buying process.
The Results
The new, stylish Coup d’Archet site boasts a smooth user experience due to its easy navigation and simple
purchasing system allowing the user to buy any items they like quickly and
easily. Audio has also been fully
integrated into the site so that users can ‘try before they buy’, offering
a seamless service.
The website benefits from over 50% search engine traffic and a Page 1 listing in Google for Johanna Martzy, Coup d'Archet and a range of of other relevant keywords. All
of the above has led to a very happy client which is the best result of all!
